Maintaining Academic Integrity

Academic integrity is an important value at MSVU. Use the resources below to learn more about how you can maintain your academic integrity and contribute to the scholarly conversation at MSVU.

Citations

Citations give credit to the author(s) for their work and show your participation in the ongoing research process. They show your reader where you found the information and help you show your commitment to academic integrity. Different styles of citations contain the same information, but they present it differently. This isn’t meant to confuse you, but is rather because of disciplinary standards. Learn more about how to format the different citation styles by using the Library Research Guides below.

Writing

Writing is taught in a variety of ways at MSVU and there are a number of resources available to support your writing process. Adjusting to University

No matter where you’re coming from, adjusting to MSVU comes with its own challenges. That’s why we have a range of supports designed for all incoming undergraduate students.

Mount 101 & Mount 201: A free – and mandatory – online resource for all incoming undergraduate students. Use the What’s in Mount 101 Guide to help you find the information you need, when you need it. You can find Mount 101 or Mount 201 on your Moodle account.

Mount Mentors: a group of senior students who are here to help you navigate your first year at MSVU.

Bounce Back: A free support program for first-year students who struggled during the Fall term and want to improve during the Winter term.

Language Assistance & Resources for International Students: Academic resources for international students designed by the English for Academic Preparation instructors from the IEC.
