What is the EDIA Hub?
The EDIA Hub (which launched March 22, 2023) is a central spot where all members of the MSVU community can learn about the equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility (EDIA) resources available at the university, as well as community and cultural resources available beyond MSVU.
For students, faculty and staff from historically underrepresented groups, the hub provides a safe space where you can access the resources you need to support your success at MSVU.
For all, the hub provides an opportunity to connect and share information and perspectives aimed at advancing EDIA at MSVU and in the community at large. Further, the hub provides opportunities for collaboration, community-building, and communication among EDIA leaders at MSVU.
Where is it located?
The EDIA Hub is located in Room 207 in the space joining the Library/EMF to the McCain Centre Atrium.
Who can I talk to?
Different EDIA resource leads will be located in the hub on different days. The following MSVU services will be part of the EDIA Hub:
- Accessibility Services
- Alexa McDonough Institute for Women, Gender and Social Justice
- Black Student Support
- Dimensions Committee
- EDIA Advisor
- International Education Centre
- Nancy’s Chair in Women’s Studies
- Research Office, EDIA in research
- Indigenous Student Centre
- Students’ Union Pride Centre
- VP Advocacy, Students’ Union
Note that all existing EDIA resource offices will remain; the hub is not where these resources will be located full-time. Rather, the hub will be an additional point of connection.
Those located off campus are reminded that they can connect with these services too. For more information, you can be in touch with individual resource leads via the linked list above or contact Delvina Bernard, EDIA Advisor, at Delvina.Bernard2@MSVU.CA or 902-457-6223.
EDIA is all of us
Though some of us at MSVU may have more direct involvement in EDIA-related work, please remember that EDIA is all of us. Each of us has a role to play in advancing EDIA at MSVU. Action is required from all of us to ensure EDIA is part of the fabric of our university. EDIA is not just one person nor one office.
