Happy Lunar New Year!
The Lunar New Year is one of the most important celebrations for several East and Southeast Asian cultures. It is a multi-day event that that begins with the new moon that occurs sometime between January 21 and February 20. This year, the Lunar New Year falls on February 1. As well, each year is named after one of 12 animals which feature in the Chinese zodiac: 2022 marks the year of the tiger.
Normally, we would gather on campus to celebrate this important occasion. While I regret that we can’t do that this year due to pandemic restrictions, the spirit of celebration still unites us.
On behalf of MSVU, I extend warmest wishes for a wonderful new year to all those celebrating within our university community and beyond. May your 2022 be filled with good fortune and good health!
