A message from Mount president Dr. Ramona Lumpkin

Together with universities across Canada, Mount Saint Vincent University is deeply concerned about an executive order issued in the United States that prevents individuals from seven countries (Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen) from entering the U.S. for 90 days.

This travel restriction stands to affect international studies, research partnerships, academic conferences and, in some cases, family relationships.

Members of the Mount community impacted by this situation are encouraged to reach out for support.

Students – please contact Paula Barry, Associate Vice-President, Student Experience, at 902-457-6384 or paula.barry@msvu.ca. Paula’s portfolio includes the International Education Centre and Counselling Services; she also has expertise in immigration.

Faculty and staff – please contact Kim Healy, Manager, Human Resources at 902-457-6368 or Kim.Healy@msvu.ca.

The Mount welcomes students, faculty and staff from around the world, including those seeking refuge from violence and hardship. A diverse university community is a stronger university community, with greater breadth of knowledge, talent, skills and perspective. We stand firmly in support of diversity and inclusion.

Ramona
