Yesterday, the Canadian university and college communities suffered a tragic and tremendous loss.
Though no MSVU students, faculty or staff were aboard the plane that crashed in Tehran, Iran, the flight was carrying a number of students, faculty, researchers, staff, and recent graduates from other Canadian universities. Indeed, this was an international tragedy, affecting citizens from several countries.
On behalf of the MSVU community, I send heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of all those who died. We mourn this devastating loss with our academic counterparts across the country.
Those requiring support at this difficult time are encouraged to reach out. Counselling Services are available for MSVU students in need of support. Faculty and staff support is available through our Employee and Family Assistance Program (intranet link).
Sincerely,
Dr. Mary Bluechardt
