Dear MSVU students, faculty and staff,

As we get set to wrap up a historic semester, I’m reminded of the incredibly special community that is Mount Saint Vincent University.

This fall, we navigated a safe return to on-campus learning, working, and student life. We welcomed back hundreds of residence students, re-opened on-campus student services, and hosted our first in-person convocation ceremonies in two years. This was no small feat and required hard work, dedication and patience on everyone’s part. Our community came together in a way that is truly exceptional, and for that I thank you.

And now, just as we’re about to begin the holiday break, we’re faced with yet another plot twist in this seemingly never-ending pandemic – the arrival of the Omicron variant. As frustrating and discouraging as this is, I know that the MSVU community will expertly manage whatever comes, always with the success of our students, the support of faculty and staff, and the well-being of our broader community at the fore.

I hope you bask in the glow of a job well done this year. Celebrate your 2021 accomplishments – big and small. Over the holiday break, may you take some time to relax, recharge, and do more of the activities that bring you joy.

Here’s to a healthy, bright and peaceful year ahead.

Ramona
