First-Year students

Welcome to the Biology Dept at MSVU.

If you are considering majoring in Biology, we recommend that you take these courses in your first year:

• BIOL 1152 and BIOL 1153
  We highly recommend that you take the in-person versions of these courses. These two courses are an entry way into our second-year courses. The in-person versions of these courses will better prepare you for the upper-level biology courses especially if you are considering majoring in Biology.
• Math first-year required courses for your BSc
• Chem first-year required courses for your BSc

NOTE: CHEM 1012 is required for our second-year Cell and Molecular Biology course (BIOL 2240). This biology course is a gateway to several upper-level courses; therefore, we highly recommend that you take your chemistry requirements in your first year.
