Mapping Master’s Program Outcomes
Our graduate programs in Family Studies and Gerontology are designed to help students to meet each of these nine program outcomes:
- Outcome 1: Developing literary research skills
- Outcome 2: Understanding and applying the critical-ecological model to identify intervention points
- Outcome 3: Identifying roles and responsibilities in relation to the Continuum of Prevention
- Outcome 4: Analyzing processes/outcomes in programs/policies
- Outcome 5: Developing professional attitudes and behaviours that recognize diversity
- Outcome 6: Understanding ethical standards of practice
- Outcome 7: Understanding concepts such as empowerment, social support, and critical pedagogy
- Outcome 8: Understanding social aspects of individual and population aging
- Outcome 9: Developing an advanced understanding of family dynamics across the life course
