Minitab
MSVU participates in a multi-user license for Minitab which allows for unlimited usage for home use for authorized users. A student qualifies as an authorized user if he or she is enrolled in coursework that results in receipt of credits (excluding certificate programs and continuing education credits) towards a degree at the Mount.
Data Residency Notice: Please note that the cloud-based version of Minitab stores data in the United States and/or the European Union. To use Minitab without storing your data outside of Canada, please install Minitab locally on a Windows computer. If you don’t have access to a Windows computer, then you can use Minitab on a campus lab computer, and lab computers now can be accessed remotely.
Minitab is available as a desktop application (Windows only) and a cloud application.
On Campus Computer Labs:
Minitab is available in various computer labs on campus.
Secure access to a lab computer can be achieved remotely using the MSVU Remote Computer Access Portal from your device using your MSVU login credentials.
Faculty and Staff MSVU Computers:
Minitab desktop application can be installed on MSVU computers (Windows only), please contact the IT&S Help Desk to request a ticket for installation identifying application to be installed and asset number of computer.
If you are using the license online or on a desktop, you will still need to log in. If you are logged into your MSVU account on the network, you will be taken directly into Minitab. If you aren’t, you will be prompted for your email address to authenticate.
Faculty, Staff and Student Personal Computers:
You may access the online version by visiting https://app.minitab.com (please note Minitab recommends using Google Chrome, Safari or Microsoft Edge).
Faculty will need to submit a class list (including email address) to the IT&S Help Desk requesting access to the software for the semester.
Once a student has been added into the License Portal and granted a subscription to use Minitab they are automatically sent a Welcome Email that tells them how to access Minitab.
The license includes a desktop application (Windows only) and the cloud application.
The only Macintosh solution will be Minitab in the cloud.
