Dear MSVU community,
I am writing to make you aware that we have been notified by Public Health of a case of COVID-19 connected to the Mount Saint Vincent University community.
The case is travel related and the student lives off-campus. They have been self-isolating per Public Health protocols.
Required contact tracing is managed by Public Health; we have not been notified of any risk to the campus community.
All students traveling to Nova Scotia from any location other than PEI and Newfoundland are reminded to self-isolate and schedule a COVID-19 test, even if they have no symptoms. Tests can be scheduled through the Province’s COVID-19 Self-Assessment website.
A reminder that more information about MSVU’s COVID-19 response can be found on the university’s website.
Staff in our Health Office and International Education Centre are checking in regularly with all students in self-isolation and will ensure students have any support they require. We remain committed to doing all we can to supporting every MSVU student through the pandemic. No further information about the student will be shared in order to protect their privacy.
I’m proud of the commitment our students, faculty and staff have demonstrated over these past many months to protecting our community from COVID-19. We will continue to work together and with Public Health to keep the MSVU community safe.
Dr. Mary Bluechardt
