The Teaching and Learning Centre is an academic support unit that works with administration, departments, faculty, and staff to support the development, delivery, and advancement of inclusive and accessible learning opportunities. Meet our Teaching and Learning Centre Staff.

Faculty Support

We offer faculty support for teaching and course development through consultation, workshops, teaching and learning events, and resources. We support the development and delivery of all course delivery modes, including on-campus, blended, multi-access, and online. Areas of support include:

  • Preparing course outlines and assessment structures
  • Creating learning activities and assignments
  • Designing inclusive learning environments
  • Planning flexible learning for exceptional circumstances
  • Creating accessible content
  • Selecting appropriate educational technology
  • Exploring class management strategies
  • Preparing teaching dossiers for career advancement

Institution and Department Support

We work with administration, departments, and staff on teaching and learning related committees and initiatives. We provide consultation and resources to support the academic requirements and help inform the advancement of  teaching and learning institutional policies and procedures. Areas of support include:

  • Course outline template
  • Career advancement

Course Delivery Modes

The Mount offers courses using a variety of course delivery modes. Online courses can be offered in one of four delivery modes: synchronous online, asynchronous online, multi-mode online, and multi-access. In-class courses can be offered in one of three delivery modes: face-to-face, multi-access, and blended.
