Two MSVU faculty members will be recognized during the virtual Discovery Awards ceremony to be held on November 25. The Discovery Awards, which are presented in support of the Discovery Centre, celebrate outstanding innovators whose game-changing achievements have helped to make Nova Scotia a leader on the world stage.
Dr. Kyly Whitfield, Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Human Nutrition, is a finalist for the 2021 Emerging Professional Award. This award is bestowed upon an individual who is early in their career and demonstrates research excellence, knowledge sharing, and potential for ongoing growth and development.
Dr. Tamara Franz-Odendaal, Professor in the Department of Biology and the NSERC Chair for Women in Science and Engineering, is a finalist for the 2021 Professional of Distinction award. This award is bestowed upon an individual who is a leading innovator, a role model for people who choose science as a career.
