If an applicant’s first language is not English, official reports with acceptable scores from one of the following tests must be submitted:

  • the International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
  • the Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL) Test
  • the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
  • the Pearson Test of English (PTE)
  • the Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB)

If your English language proficiency test score is lower than the required minimum shown below, you will be offered conditional admission and may complete any English program at one of our pathway partners. Please find our pathway partners down below.

IELTS

7.0 or above (no individual band below 6.5) – Graduate Studies
6.5 or above (no individual band below 6.0) – Undergraduate Studies

CAEL
70 or above (no individual band below 70) – Graduate Studies
60 or above (no individual band below 60) – Undergraduate Studies

TOEFL (iB Test)

93 or above (no individual score below 23) – Graduate Studies
86-92 (no individual score below 21) – Undergraduate Studies

TOEFL at Home (online)

93 or above (no individual score below 23) – Graduate Studies
86-92 (no individual score below 21) – Undergraduate Studies

Pearson (PTE)

61 overall (no individual band below 54) – Graduate Studies
59 overall (no individual band below 54) – Undergraduate Studies

MELAB

85 or above – Graduate Studies
80-84 -Undergraduate Studies
