In addition to the Undergraduate Entrance Bursary, there are 3 named bursaries that once awarded, can be renewed up to an additional 3 years pending the student continues to meet the eligibility criteria.
How do I apply for a Renewable Undergraduate Entrance Bursary?
To be considered, the following Undergraduate Entrance Bursaries require supplemental documentation as noted in each description below.
If you are applying to more than one bursary, the 2024-2025 Undergraduate Entrance Bursary application only needs to be submitted once.
Students approved to receive an Undergraduate Renewable Entrance Bursary will be mailed a Confirmation of Need Form to the address that was included on their 2024-2025 Undergraduate Entrance Bursary Application. In order to receive their bursary, students must forward their Confirmation of Need Form, along with proof of government loan, bank funding or band sponsorship (proof must include student name) to the Registrar’s Office, Financial Aid by August 14, 2024.
Grace Jollymore Joyce Bursary
Established by The Joyce Family Foundation in honour of Ronald V. Joyce’s mother, Grace Jollymore Joyce, to recognize her significant impact and influence on her family. This renewable bursary is awarded annually to full-time students from Nova Scotia entering any undergraduate program at Mount Saint Vincent University. Recipients must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident and hold good academic standing as defined in the university calendar. New applicants must have completed high school within the last three years and have demonstrated an ability to overcome obstacles and adversity.

- Complete the Grace Jollymore Joyce Bursary Application (PDF)
- Complete the 2024-2025 Undergraduate Entrance Bursary Application (PDF)
- A Personal Statement demonstrating an ability to overcome obstacles and adversity
- A reference letter from an individual who is personally aware of the applicant’s unique circumstances. This reference must be able to speak to the potential and resiliency of the applicant and how this award will help them achieve their post-secondary endeavors

Scott McCain and Leslie McLean – L’nu Student Success Bursary
Established by Scott McCain and Leslie McLean to provide renewable bursaries, awarded annually, to full-time Indigenous students, from Canada, with demonstrated financial need entering any undergraduate certificate, diploma or degree program at MSVU.

Walker Wood Foundation Bursary
The Walker Wood Foundation Bursary is awarded to fulltime female students entering any program at Mount Saint Vincent University. Applicants must be a Canadian citizen and maintain good academic standing. Preference will be given to students who are the first generation in their family to attend university. This bursary is renewable for an additional three years provided the student maintains good academic standing and demonstrates financial need.
