The 2025 Intercultural Spring Fair is an opportunity for the MSVU community to explore different cultures, enjoy dishes from around the world, and share demonstrations of traditional music, dance, and storytelling. On Thursday, March 20, follow the lively music and delicious smells to the McCain Atrium between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. A free lunch will be served at 12 p.m. and is open to everyone!

Attendees can expect to experience an array of traditional dances, songs, music, artwork, traditions, and more – but some say that the highlight of the day is the food. Free to everyone, Chartwells prepares various dishes from around the world, as suggested by student volunteers. This gives international students a ‘taste of home’ while allowing others to explore culture through food and travel though their taste buds.

Since being introduced in the spring of 2024, the Intercultural fair has provided a shared space for MSVU students to celebrate diversity with a focus on learning and respect. After the great success of the first fair, it has since become a biannual event with an Intercultural Fall Fair in November and an International Spring Fair in March.

The Intercultural Fairs are completely led by international students – and students are always excited to contribute. This year, more than 50 international students have signed up to volunteer from over 17 countries. Volunteers host the event, work in small groups to prepare booths to share elements of their home cultures, and perform traditional dances, songs, readings, etc. on stage.
