Celebrating 25 Years of Advancing Aging Research
and Enhancing Seniors’ Lives
The Nova Scotia Centre on Aging is one of the few longest operating university based centres on aging in Canada. We are excited to announce that 2017 marks the 25th anniversary of the NSCA and we have a number of initiatives planned to recognize this significant milestone.
We will host 3-4 community events throughout Nova Scotia which will offer new insights on different aging related topics.
We will have a dinner to celebrate the Centre’s success and recognize the many partners who support our work. The dinner will be held this April (more details to come).
We are partnering with MSVU Art Gallery to offer an exhibit on aging, Sept. 8 – Nov. 12, 2017. There will be a public reception on October 1 in recognition of National Seniors Day and the International Day of Older Persons.
There will be a student essay competition for students in grade 5 and 6 within the Halifax Regional School Board.
As well, we will be highlighting several aging related topics each month through our social media campaign, “Our Future is Aging: Advancing Knowledge Series”. So stay tuned for more information over the course of the year and join us as we celebrate this milestone.
