A message from MSVU Interim President and Vice-Chancellor Ramona Lumpkin, CM, PhD
On behalf of the Mount Saint Vincent University community, I extend my deep sympathies to the family and friends of the Muslim community members killed and injured in a senseless act of violence in London, Ontario earlier this week.
This tragedy is a devastating reminder that racism persists in our country. It must end.
We condemn to the harshest degree all acts of racism and we stand in grief and solidarity with members of the Muslim community – including those at our university, as well as across our province and country.
Members of the MSVU community in need of support are reminded of the following resources:
- For students: MSVU Counselling Services: counselling@msvu.ca; Good2Talk NS Helpline for Postsecondary Students: 1-833-292-3698
- For faculty and staff: Employee & Family Assistance Program (or EFAP)—Shepell (free, confidential counselling services) – visit the website or call 1-844-880-9142
Sincerely,
Ramona
