To the MSVU community,
I’m not one for making new year’s resolutions. But I am inclined to look ahead with hope at this time of year and here’s what I want the new year to mean for you and MSVU.
I hope 2025 is a year of growth. For students in their studies and extra-curriculars, for faculty and staff at work and beyond, and for our university as a whole – because each one of us, and our special MSVU, has a ton to offer the world.
I hope 2025 is a year of connection. Our greatest strength at MSVU is our community of wonderful people. We need each other on this wild adventure called life, so let’s do what we can to support one another.
Finally, I hope 2025 is a year of peace. From the challenges we’ve faced here at home to conflicts around the globe, we find ourselves in difficult times. Let’s seek to better understand one another, make space for everyone, and promote knowledge and tolerance.
To all students, faculty, staff, alumni, donors, volunteers, and friends of MSVU: thank you for being a part of this extra-special community.
I wish you and yours a very restful holiday break.

PS. In case you missed it, here’s a little holiday video greeting featuring me and Captain Crow (with big thanks to Nick Jones in the DMZ for his expert animation work!).
