A message from Ramona Lumpkin, CM, PhD, Interim President and Vice-Chancellor
Dear MSVU students, faculty and staff,
I write to you today to extend a hearty welcome, or welcome back, to Mount Saint Vincent University.
I couldn’t be more delighted to be greeting students, faculty and staff on campus once again. As I watch classmates and colleagues be re-united or meet for the first time, I’m profoundly aware of the incredible work that has gone into getting us here safely. At the same time, I don’t underestimate the challenges that will persist as we navigate these next several months together.
We’ve each lived a different pandemic experience, and so we are each returning to our cherished home on the hill with a different perspective. Or perhaps you continue to study online either out of necessity or by choice. Regardless of ‘how’ you’ll be joining the MSVU community, I’m happy you are here. Ours is a special university, and this fall – more than ever – the Mount’s unique gift of caring will carry us through. Please be in touch as you need support. We have student supports available from A to Z and faculty and staff wellness resources as well (contact Human.Resources@msvu.ca).
Wishing you all a safe and successful semester.
P.S. Please consult the COVID-19 information available on the MSVU website. From suggested spots to eat or take an online course on campus to mask and vaccine requirement details, you’ll find it all at msvu.ca/COVID-19.
P.P.S. We’ve been getting excited about the return of students to campus for weeks now. In case you missed it, we shared a video last week that captures a little of that anticipation.
