Dear MSVU students, faculty and staff,
We did it! YOU did it. With exams now wrapped up, final papers submitted, and an end in sight for marking, it’s time to reflect on the year gone by and gear up for the one about to start.
Without question, the highlight of my year was finding my way to MSVU. Not to brag (ok, maybe to brag a bit), but I took the #1 spot in MSVU’s Top Stories of 2022. From welcoming Emily Pictou-Roberts as the first Auntie in Residence at MSVU and King’s, to announcing the development of the new Kinu Tourism Program – we’ve had a lot of wonderful news to share this year. I encourage you to check out the full list of this year’s most read stories.
There are great things in store for next year too, in particular because 2023 marks the university’s 150th anniversary! That’s right, MSVU has been challenging the status quo since 1873. Many activities are planned to mark this major milestone, starting with a launch event on the eve of Caritas Day, Tuesday, January 24 at 2 p.m. in the McCain Atrium – mark your calendars!
I look forward to helping propel MSVU into its next 150 years. If my first six months at MSVU are any indication, some great adventures lie ahead.
I hope you and yours have a relaxing holiday break filled with all your favourite things.
Sincere thanks for your commitment to the MSVU community.
See you in 2023,
Joël

PS. ICYMI, check out our 2022 holiday video below. I got to ride a floor scrubber. Enough said.
